We blogged about the building process of our house to document it for ourselves and to help others. Our house is finished and we have moved in and we love our home. Building a house isn't a process that goes perfectly, no matter what builder you pick, and this is our story. Every problem we had during the building process has been made right by Ryan homes. This isn't complaint blog, its how we felt at the time of our post during the building process.

Week 3, Basement Concrete Floor

This week our concrete floor for the basement was poured. Next week our wood will be delivered and they will get started framing. We are really looking forward to seeing the framing.

We noticed a couple things wrong this week.

They forgot to cut some of the rebar, so its sticking up out of the concrete. I'm guessing this should be an obvious problem, so I'm sure our PM will notice this and fix it without us pointing it out. 


The next thing we noticed wrong was the holes for the post of the beans weren't aligned. This part is something they will have to fix in order to put the post under the beams. I'm guessing they will have to cut new holes for the post this week, since they are suppose to start framing this week.

Notice the cut out for the beam and cut out for the post don't align at all.
