We blogged about the building process of our house to document it for ourselves and to help others. Our house is finished and we have moved in and we love our home. Building a house isn't a process that goes perfectly, no matter what builder you pick, and this is our story. Every problem we had during the building process has been made right by Ryan homes. This isn't complaint blog, its how we felt at the time of our post during the building process.

We sold our old place

We got so worried about our old place selling, as we got off to rough start, but after switch realtors, it started going smoothly. And we sold it. Sad to see it go, but glad it's gone. Condo living wasn't for us, we need a house with a yard. Here are some pictures of our old place.

  1. Looks great! :) Love your taste and REALLY love the updates to the place. We actually used to live there back in 2008-2009 when you could rent them. :) Congrats on selling guys. I'm sure it's a relief!

    1. Thanks, we actually did most of the updating the week of my final exams, not the best time for home improvement, but I still graduated with honors, lol. I seem to perform better understand stress. That cool that you use to live there, It's such a small world.

  3. That's great! So are you going to be doing a rent back or a double move?

    1. We are going to be doing a double move. We already moved out back in January, to help it sell. People seemed to like it better when it was empty, I thought staging was better, I guess not in our case. We were luck to be able to move in with my parents while we wait. They still haven't broke ground yet on our house, and still no for sure date on that, so we really couldn't do a lease back without a set a date, plus living with my parents is helping us save a lot of extra money for all the little projects we want to do when we move in. We are now looking at May maybe being our break ground month but it's not 100%, due to the developers (not ryan homes) dragging their feet.

  4. Congratulations! And I gotta say -- even though your place would clearly look really nice no matter who was taking the pictures, your realtor is clearly a better photographer than 99% of the ones we've seen. We saw listings with pictures of dirty dishes in the sink, clothes on the floor, etc...

    1. Thanks! Our realtor gave us a list of everything we should do to get ready for the pictures. He sent someone out on his team along with the photographer to help move or adjust anything we didn't take care of. He gave us a list of what to do before each showing. His attention to detail is great. He was 100% better than the one we first tried to use.

  5. Congratulations on the sale of your old place. This is such exciting news to hear. I wish you all the best in moving forward to your new place. It is so marvelous to think that you were able to accomplish all that you set out to do and get the results that you really wanted.
